IMHO, I think this has a lot to do with the internet age. Typos, net speak, 1337 5p34k, web acronyms and chat abbreviations may be the main contributions for this movement. If you know anyone who is not so "internet-based", have them read it, please. And let me know if my theory can be proven false.
